I Love Clouds & Blue Sky

This past week was a gorgeous week for people who like blue sky with big puffy clouds.  I was amazed several times last week with the darkest blue skies decorated with the whitest clouds.  I love looking at skyscapes, if that’s even a word.  If not, it’s now my word.  “Hey, did you see the skyscape yesterday?”  or “I love to shoot skyscapes.”  Call me a skyscape photographer.  I think it’s pretty catchy.  Anyway, take a look at these skyscapes (taken on 5/25/2010 in Fairlawn, Virginia) below, and be sure to look for beautiful skyscapes this week in your area.  Oh, by the way, I just found Skyscape on wikipedia.

BE SURE TO CLICK ON THE IMAGES TO SEE THEM LARGER – IT’S WORTH IT!

Hannah Mae’s New Glasses

Hannah Mae got NEW GLASSES!  Her other glasses finally caved in to the pressures of a 9 year old.  Well, not really, she’s been quite careful with them.  But she did finish them off by stepping on them, accidentally.  She had to wear them for 10 days until her new ones came in, and they were being held together by tape.  She’s really liking these new ones, and the new prescription makes them feel even better for her.  When she picked out this frame, she then found out that the name of the frame was Hannah…how appropriate.

Big and Bad Looking

This black snake sure was bold, and was trying to look “bad” too.  It allowed me time to stop in the road, and snap away.  I even drove away, turned around, and came back past it again without it even trying to “run” away (and I didn’t run over over it either).  I’m glad it was just a black snake, or it would have been a bit scary.  This was taken on Viscoe Road in Fairlawn, Virginia, on 5/14/2010.

Bachelor Button Blossom

As I was leaving for work last week (5/18) I noticed our first Bachelor Button in bloom.  I just had to start the day with a quick flower photo.  Enjoy!!

Whew, Where Has MY FREE TIME Gone?

I don’t know how many people look at this blog on a regular basis.  I don’t know how many people look forward to seeing a new photo with a few words of explanation.  However, I do know that I look at this blog every day, and that for the last several weeks (okay, several months) my posts have been anything but frequent.  What can I say…except, nothing.  Over the past few months, it seems that my workload has increased.  But I won’t blame the lack of posts on that, since I know MANY people that are as busy as I am, or busier than I am, who post several times a week if not every day.  Well, I am not going to promise to do that, but I would like to get back to a somewhat more regular schedule.  Maybe I’ll just start slow, and commit to a few more times this month.  Then we’ll all just have to wait and see what My Free Time produces.  Check back and let me know how you like the posts.

Cathedral Basilica – Covington, KY

I attended a photography class (David Ziser’s Digital Master Class) last week (check out David’s blog post for the week in review) and we were privileged to have a photo session inside of this church.  Before going into the church, I grabbed this quick image.  The sky was very overcast with no cloud structure, so I made a couple of adjustments that really worked out well I think.  By the way, the stained glass window is the largest hand painted stained glass window in North America.  I’ll be featuring a few more shots from my class in the next few days.  Enjoy, and let me know what you think.
