Mountain Lake Reflection

A recent visit to Mountain Lake was nice, but the lake was hard to find…here’s a pond reflection though.  Taken on August 24, 2014.

The Cascades

Here’s an image of the Cascades made on November 25, 2011.  The Cascades can be found in Giles County, Virginia, and is worth the hike to get there.

Little Stony Creek

Here are a few images of Little Stone Creek located in Giles County, Virginia.  These shots were taken downstream from the Cascades on November 25, 2011.  The bottom photo is a small stream of water (not the Cascades) which falls over the rocks above the creek.  I’ll post an image of the Cascades tomorrow.

Sunburst in the Woods

This sunburst was captured while we were on a recent hike to the Cascades in Giles County, Virginia on November 25, 2011.  We were hiking up the mountain, and as I turned around at one point, this was the view that I saw.  I must remember to do that more often.

Don’t Get Dizzy

This is what you might be able to see when you think there are too many trees to see anything…like the “can’t see the forest because of the trees” feeling.  Well, don’t forget to look up and marvel at how the trees look against a beautiful blue sky.  And be sure to hold on to something so you don’t get dizzy.  This was taken on the hike up to the Cascades in Giles County, Virginia on November 25, 2011.

Sunday – Church Time

Walker’s Creek – Presbyterian Church

This week’s church building is located in Giles County, in the White Gate area along Walker’s Creek.  Route 42 takes you to this church, and the scenery before and after are also worth the drive.  (Click HERE for the location on Google Maps)  The sign on the front of the church says the church was established in 1873.  This image was captured on November 12, 2011.  Let me know what you think.

Get your “Ducks” in a Row?

I’ve heard “Get your ducks in a row”, but I’ve never heard “Get your Geese in a row”.  Fun photo, and pretty good poses too.  These were taken in Narrows, Giles County, Virginia, on December 31, 2009.
