This was one of the coolest cloud formations that I’ve ever witnessed. As I was traveling back from South Carolina on September 1, 2013, I drove through the the small town of Bessemer City, North Carolina. I looked for a spot to pull off the road and capture the clouds, and found an old church to provide some extra interest…St. Andrews Episcopal Church.

Cool clouds are a favorite background for my portrait sessions too.

This wasn’t the way the sky looked today, but today’s weather produced all different kinds of sky. There were some of the darkest clouds I’ve ever seen, with no rain, followed by blue sky and rain. That resulted in a rainbow, which I captured with my camera phone. You can see that over on my facebook page in mobile uploads from today. This sky below was the way it was on September 25, 2011.

Yep, more clouds too…hey, they make great backgrounds for portraits. Contact me.

This is what you might be able to see when you think there are too many trees to see anything…like the “can’t see the forest because of the trees” feeling. Well, don’t forget to look up and marvel at how the trees look against a beautiful blue sky. And be sure to hold on to something so you don’t get dizzy. This was taken on the hike up to the Cascades in Giles County, Virginia on November 25, 2011.

Dizzy? That would make a great photo. Contact me.

Fall Foliage – Viscoe Road
After leaving my house on a foggy morning, this was the scene at the top of the hill (on the same morning as yesterday’s fog photograph post)…October 18, 2011. What a beautiful site it was to see the fall foliage against this blue sky…and a great start to my day!
